We have been instructed to advertise a wonderful example of the Wallis Advance 10-ton roller, No. 7878 of 1926. Currently based in Cornwall, this engine has spent a great deal of its life in the South West.

Ordered by the Borough of Torquay on 18/11/1925, it was delivered in February 1926 and was with Torquay (coincidentally very local to ourselves!) until its sale into preservation to Mr Jim Snell and Mr Eric Sims. Since then, it had two other owners in the south west and was acquired by the current owners a couple of years ago.

The roller is in good working order, steams freely and has been seen on the Cornish rally scene over the past couple of years. It is sold with a current boiler certificate and ready to go. The most recent hydraulic examiniation was October 2015 by D. J. Worthers & Son Inspection Services; the next steam and cold inspection is due September 2019. Having had a look at the boiler paperwork, I can see no notes in the recent report which are of concern, it looks therefore to be all in good order aside from some light scale in places. Boilerwork-wise, included in the paperwork with the engine is a photo rebuild of boiler, which involved fitting a new box and barrel in the late 1990s/early 2000s.

Some general work was carried out in 2017, including; new ceramic lagging, new brakes and the paint relined. There is a second scarifier which is not currently fitted but is included. It is fitted with a short water lift hose which will stay with the engine, there is a second long water lift hose available but only by seperate negotiation with the owner later in the negoitions.

The engine is not based at our premises, however we will liaise with the vendor and interested parties to arrange any viewings and to negotiate a deal.

£45,995
