One of my favourite makes, the Allchin Royal Chester, so it is nice to have one in stock. The original miniature was designed in 1 1/2" scale by W.J.Hughes and the build was serialised in Model Engineer. Our stock engine is scaled up from the 1 1/2" drawings and has worked out at about 3 1/2" scale so is an engine of reasonable size at 4' 5" long. Large enough for some serious fun yet small enough to be very easily transported. Professionally built steel boiler by TRS Boilers fed by injector and hand pump mounted on footplate. The eagle-eyed of you will notice the mechanical pump has never been fitted. However the fittings are there along with the castings for the pump assembly - the builder simply never got around to fitting it!

Single cylinder with slide valves actuated by Stephensons link motion and pole reverser on the footplate. Two speed gearing with differential and double drive to the rear wheels. Springing on the front axle and the engine is fitted with rubbers. It runs well in both forward and reverse with a nice bark.

These Allchins are not very common so here is an opportunity to own something a bit different to the more usual makes in this scale.
