A 2" Fowler DCC Showmans Road Locomotive designed by Plastow and originally based on "Kitchener" of 1920 later to be re-named "The Iron Maiden" for the film of the same name. A considerable amount of the work has been done on this and the standard of workmanship is generally good. The gears have been cut also the differential gears. As can be seen from the photographs, the engine is rolling on its wheels, belly tanks fitted, flywheel machined, sprung front axle, chimney and dynamo bracket fabricated. It has a silver soldered copper boiler which is at an ideal stage for a hydraulic test. Many of the castings and all the nameplates are there and of course all castings are readily available for this fine engine. This would make a very worthwhile project for someone who would like something a bit special but who would like to build the smaller scale. when completed these Fowler Showmans engines are very impressive whether on the rally field or sitting on the shelf at home.
