Here we have one of the Burrells built from kits supplied by Steam Traction World (formerly Modelworks International). Professionally built boiler by Cope Engineering with CE mark. Single cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephensons valve gear with pole reverser on the footplate. Boiler feed is by injector and crankshaft driven water pump with by-pass valve. Two speed gearing and a winch drum is fitted on the nearside hind wheel with fairleads on the tender.

The engine was completed at the end of 2008 and since then all the little quirks that manifest themselves with a new build engine have been sorted, consequently the engine steams and runs well. It also benefits from having the modified piston fitted along with the modified water pump.

Painted in a pleasant colour of Prussian Blue as supplied by Phoenix Paints ( great if you are a fan of the much loved and lamented Somerset & Dorset Rly!). All the bills are included in the comprehensive file of papers. The engine is on rubbers, is registered for road use, and also comes with a seat and firing tools. This engine has reasonable, but not pristine paintwork, however it was built and owned by an independant boiler inspector who has certainly looked after it. A good engine both on the road and on the rally field at cosiderably less cost than it would be to build a new one.
