You may recognise this engine as being sold not long ago. After a successful transaction, a change in circumstance means the current owner is now buying something bigger, so has decided to let this lovely engine go to somewhere where it won't be overlooked.  The photos and following description is from when it was with us previously a couple of months ago; the engine has not changed since then.

An absolute beauty of a 2" Fowler A7 to the M.J. Engineering castings and drawings. Built using a copper R. Chambers boiler of 1991, this model was purchased needing work by the previous owner some years ago and has since been totally rebuilt to a very high standard. These 2" scale Fowlers are often highly detailed and good steamers but this is one of the, if not the, finest examples we've come across.

The motion has had a complete overhaul and turns over freely with a nice amount of compression. Despite its age, the copper boiler is in good condition and, as part of the more recent rebuild, had a fresh shell hydraulic pressure test to double its working pressure, whilst as a bare boiler, by a respected commercial boiler tester. The previous owner did not proceed with the remaining parts of the boiler test once it was back in one piece, simply because they had no intention of using it except on the odd occassion privately. We will supply this example with a fresh commercial boiler test if asked for by the prospective owner (alternatively, for these smaller models, the new owner may wish to use their own boiler tester - in which case an appropriate warrenty will be supplied - please ask for full details).

The engine will be supplied as a full, ready-to-go set up including firing irons; a full set of M. J. Engineering drawings; a pleasant, adjustable driving wagon complete with a hand pump and water tank; a bit of appropriate coal to get the new owner started; and a blower, custom made to suit this model!

Overall, a fantastic piece of model engineering, built to a very high standard and finished in a lovely livery with that authentic Fowler look.
