Another of the nicely designed Foden "C" types built from castings supplied by John Rex Model Engineers. This one has been built as a tipping dropside waggon but could be adapted to a flat bed or any configuration that would suit best. As with most of the 4 1/2" scale waggons this is powered by a high speed twin cylinder engine with the normal Stephenson's valve gear. The boiler is fed by a very effective mechanical water pump driven from an eccentric mounted on the nearside of the engine plus an injector. Underneath the bed is the capacious water tank. As with its full size counterpart the waggon is chain driven and has retained its proper cast spoke Foden design wheels.

These short boilers on these waggons can make steam surprisingly quickly and tend to prefer a fairly deep fire. With their high top gear they make excellent road vehicles or in the lower gear can potter about the rally field all day and their shape and design makes them very attractive and rewarding to drive.
