Burrell 3" scale traction engine S2029

Another of these very popular 3" Burrells to the Plastow design and built from castings that are now supplied by Bridport Foundry. This one is nicely engineered and has the advantage of a commercially built silver soldered copper boiler from Stuart Models Ltd. Single cylinder with Stephensons valve gear and pole reverser on the footplate.

Boiler feed is by crankshaft driven water pump with by-pass valve and injector. Two speed with differential and a winch drum is fitted to the nearside hind wheel. The engine has a mechanical lubricator as well as a working displacement lubricator and it is also fitted with a governor. The standard of paint is very good and is attractively lined out in yellow and orange.

We had this in steam the other day for the boiler inspector and it is one of the quietest and best running examples we have seen.
