Another example of this fine and very popular design from HR Plastow. Completed in mid 1990's it has spent much of its life as an "ornament" and only been steamed on a handful of occasions with the quality of the engine reflecting this. The engine is well engineered with good attention to detail and even has a displacemen lubricator fitted as well as the usual ratchet pump type. Single cylinder, slide valve with Stephenson link motion and pole reverser on the footplate. Fully silver soldered copper boiler fed by injector and crankshaft driven water pump with by-pass valve. Good quality paintwork and the engine has the advantage of rubber tyred wheels.
These are well designed and very useable engines that steam well and are powerful for this scale. An ideal starter engine and can even fit in the back of an estate car.
