Make: Ruston Proctor 2" scale Model type: Lincolnshire Lad (AJ Reeves) Year built:1996 Reg Number: Boiler test:New Swp:80 psi |
A particularly nicely engineered example of this smaller scale engine. Designed by Robin Dyer in conjunction with Reeves Technical Dept and built from castings supplied by Reeves. Fully silver soldered copper boiler professionally built by Cheddar Models. Single cylinder with Stephensons link motion and pole reverser on the footplate.
Boiler feed is by injector, crankshaft driven water pump with by-pass and a hand pump mounted on the footplate (very useful in this scale as 2" injectors can be a law unto themselves at times!). There is hardly any wear in the motion and it is obvious that the engine has seen very little work.
The wheels are nicely fitted with rubbers and the rear ones have rubber strakes giving the engine the advantage of rubber tyres but retaining the authentic looks of an engine on strakes and it has a sprung front axle. The paintwork is very good with no dings or scratches. A particularly nice example of a small scale engine.
