A great day out on a steam traction engine – we spend the day firing and maintaining a traction engine in the yard and on the road.

Morning

On arrival at around 9am we begin the day with a short safety briefing followed by a tour of the engine. We will then light up and get up to steam.

We will supply light refreshments whilst cleaning the paintwork and oiling the motion.

Following this, you will have an opportunity to familiarise yourself with the controls and steer around our yard. We will then head out to the road, with those on the day taking in turns at steering to the local pub.

Lunch

For lunch we will head to any one of a number of local pubs we will sit back in the garden and enjoy a pub lunch – please note, lunch isn’t included in the price.

Afternoon

Following lunch, we will head back onto the road to drive the engine on a slight longer run to return to Berrybrook. We hope to return by 4pm when we will put the engine to bed and conclude the day by around 5pm.

Don’t forget the camera!

This is very much an enjoyable, fun day out. Whilst it is less instructional than our miniature training course, we do hope you will take something away from it and feel more confident around traction engines.

Vouchers

There are two ways of booking the course; either pay with an option below and we will send out a voucher(s) or give us a call on 01392 833301 to organise a date and pay over the phone.

When you have paid below (via the Paypal website), we will send out the voucher in the post to the buyer, signed, dated and numbered, but will leave a blank on the voucher for you to fill in the name of whoever the voucher is for. A receipt will also be included in the envelope.

There is no requirement to organise a date prior to purchasing a voucher, usually (where the voucher is intended to be a gift), the recipient will give us a call when they are ready to redeem it. Do bear in mind however that we usually need at least one months notice for either booking option and courses usually run on a Wednesday throughout the Spring and Summer.

We can arrange for you to be paired up with another party to make the numbers! We may be running courses with up to 4 people on the engine for the day out. We will negotiate this when you phone to book the course. Spectators are more than welcome to accompany the group and can ride on the trailer free of charge.

PRICES

Single - per person £225.00

Party of 2 £400.00

Party of 3 £575.00
