An honest, earlier example of the MGB GT, ready to enjoy this summer!
This is an appealing, genuine chrome bumper example which, prior to being in our stock, was in the same ownership for 23 years. The speedo is currently showing 65,648 miles (unverified) of which only around 6,000 miles were covered since 1999. It has been recently subject to large expenditure to recommission it back into being a reliable, roadworthy classic.
It was registered in June 1967 and is finished in Old English White with black leatherette interior piped with white, matching black door cards, black carpet, the correct chrome bumpers and wire wheels.
The extensive recommissioning was carried out by a retired engineer in Cardiff area in recent years and included replacement left-hand and right-hand quarter panels, both door skins, both front wing tops to the scuttle, rear wing tops with lead fill as required along with a number of required repairs to the floor and sills. Understandably, this work was followed up with a full respray as well as new indicators, headlamp bowls, starter solenoid, five new wheels and tyres and a new Moto-Lita steering wheel and boss. We then completed the work here at Berrybrook to finish it off into a well-presented classic which we have used for several long runs to prove its reliability.
Under the bonnet, you’ll find the usual 1800 B-series four-cylinder engine which runs and drives readily through a manual gearbox. Following that work, the car is structurally solid underneath with no sign of corrosion.
Included in the paperwork is the V5C, a few old MOTs and a number of invoices for the parts fitted recently.
