We are delighted to offer for sale, on behalf of the owner, this MGB Roadster. Following some documented upgrades in recent years, this is a remarkably roadworthy example and, whilst it may not necessarily appeal to the purist collector, it is certainly a good candidate for enjoying on the open road!
Included with this MGB is a folder of historical paperwork including MOTs last dated 2021 (it benefits from being classed as a historic vehicle so is tax and MOT exempt). The included Heritage Certificate is a copy of the factory record and states that it was built new as a RHD for the home market. It was originally black with grey trim and a black hood – and it hasn’t deviated much from that since 16th November 1977 (its date of built) or 24th November 1977 (its despatch date). It was supplied new via Kennings Ltd of Walsall. When new, it also had an overdrive and Rostyle wheels fitted.
In more recent years, extensive invoices included in the folder detail work that has been carried out to improve the reliability of this example! Details of the upgrades carried out include:
- Reconditioned Short Engine fitted around 24,500 miles ago.
- Peter Burgess Ecotune Unleaded head
- 5-speed Ford Type 9 Gearbox
- 123 Ignition
- Electronic Power Steering
- Sound-proofed throughout
- Leather Seats
- Moto-Lita Leather Steering Wheel
- Braided Brake Hoses
- Drilled & Grooved Discs
- Uprated anti-roll bar
- Immobilizer
- Hood Cover
- LE Style Alloy Wheels
- Front Spoiler
Cosmetically, it has odd scuff as you would expect but otherwise the car polishes up well. The only notable damage around the car to note is that there is a crack in the bottom corner of the passenger side of the windscreen. The hood goes up and down smoothly and it starts on the button. There is no sign of rust underneath, and it all looks well cared for.
Overall, a great classic which can be enjoyed as the weather warms up!
