Offered for sale, on behalf of the owner, is this delightfully honest Morris Eight, dated from 1937.
Originally a Taunton (Somerset) registered car, it is understood it spent a large part of its life around Weston-Super-Mare. The current owner is still fairly local to the cars original place of registration making it very much a Southwest based car!
In around 2015/16, invoices suggest work was carried out including a clutch kit, head gasket and other engine work. It has been converted to a 12v system including the fitting of a 12v ignition system for improved reliability and ease of obtaining parts. Included in the paperwork is also an ‘Information Manual’.
The paintwork is in generally fair condition and the burgundy suits the car nicely. Underneath, there are a few areas of what look to be light corrosion but nothing more than one would expect from this era of vehicle. Our initial check over shows that it appears generally solid and would give many miles of motoring. It hasn’t been used for a few years and, whilst running well, the buyer should understand that it is an earlier vehicle so some upkeep will be required as it returns to the road!
The upholstery is a real eyecatcher in this one, with that vibrant red throughout. It is the two-door, four-seater with a 3-speed gearbox and a 4-cyl 918cc petrol engine. It has the Morris upgrades of bumpers as well as being fitted with both light indicators and trafficators!
A pleasant car which we are sure will give the buyer plenty of fun!
