Offered for sale on behalf of the owner from our premises in Devon, this Wallis & Steevens is something of a step back in time.
We understand it was parked up in 1969 at which point light works were started with the removal of a few components. It was found in a barn full of machinery and equipment and is presented for sale today in ‘as found’ condition.
We have not yet formally appraised the boiler – a cursory look suggests some sections may be in passable condition however certainly the tubes, front tubeplate and likely front of the barrel aren’t looking too good. As with any traction engine or locomotive purchase, we always encourage prospective buyers seek the services of an independent inspector to review the boiler to satisfy themselves of the condition prior to purchase.
The roller is largely complete with the only known parts missing being the lower sightglass fitting, pressure gauge and some brass plates.
Asking Price – £17,995
