Offered for sale is this 2″ scale ‘Thetford Town’ Scenic Showman’s Road Locomotive. The original build date of the engine is unknown however it is a copper boiler built to a acceptable standard.
Key Features:
- The boiler is of copper construction. It is nicely made – feel free to speak to us about boiler testing options moving forward.
- Typical of the ‘Thetford Town’ design, it is modelled on the Scenic Showman’s Road Locomotive running with a double crank compound cylinder arrangement and three speeds.
- It is fitted with twin injectors.
- Steam whistle, mechanical lubricator, and locomotive type pressure release valve. Also fitted with a dummy Pickering-style governor.
- Well-built to a good standard throughout. It doesn’t look to have been fired in recent years.
- The paintwork is good in a pleasant livery.
- Extra features include a winch and flywheel brake.
- Solid rubber tyres fitted for use on hard ground.
Overall, an appealing miniature Scenic which is a great display engine but which also has potential to be commissioned for steam.
