An example of the popular 4″ scale Burrell single cylinder traction engine built using kits supplied by Modelworks, predecessors to Steam Traction World. A very presentable miniature which is in generally good condition inside and out.
Key Features:
- The welded steel boiler with expanded tubes was made in 2005 and is accompanied by a handful of historical boiler reports. We would be happy to include a new commercial boiler inspection if requested.
- A single-cylinder, 2-speed arrangement with a slide valve actuated by a Stephenson’s linkage.
- Mechanical water pump and steam injector fitted for filling the boiler when in steam, as standard.
- Steam siren, mechanical lubricator, and pressure release valves alongside a dummy governor. Also fitted with a full width chimney base for better firing and a cylinder end cover which helps with the looks.
- Well-built to a good standard throughout, typically of these high-quality kits. It has been maintained well.
- The paintwork is largely in good condition. It is a simplistic livery painted in black with red wheels and flywheel, offset by simplistic lining on the wheel spokes.
- The wheels are on rubber tyres, perfect for use on hard ground or tarmac. It is registered for use on the road with a V5C.
- Includes a half-day tuition session, if requested by the buyer.
Overall, a nicely presented miniature which is very honest and looks the part.
