An appealing project which offers the buyer a significant saving and a good head start over buying the same parts elsewhere! The work conducted so far has been done to a high standard. This is a popular miniature when finished, being more desirable in that is the slightly larger, 10″ diameter boiler.
An initial assessment of the present parts shows that the majority of parts are present and complete. Many of the major and intimidating parts have been completed meaning the buyer now has a fairly straightforward project ahead of them. Due to how complete this one is, we are better off listing the parts known to be missing, as follows:
- Crankshaft
- 2nd shaft and axle cannons
- Spectacle plates
- Injector and plumbing
- Connecting rods for crankshaft and eccentrics
- No doubt more will be identified as the buyer progresses however hopefully that gives a flavour of how complete this project is.
Notable parts included follow:
- Commercially made steel boiler, supplied originally by G.D. Precision Engineering with correct documention. It is not CE marked however it is dated as 2000 meaning it predates that requirement.
- Machined cylinder block
- Majority of major components
- Brass components including pressure gauge, complete governors, oilers, mechanical lubricator etc.
- Complete set of wheels plus spare hubs. All fully vulcanised.
- Welded tender (incomplete)
- Fitted hornplates.
We are under no illusions that this remains a significant project! However, with current waits on boilers and some of the machining already carried out, we have priced this to offer a saving and give a head start.
